Air India Receives Approval to Modify Aircraft Interiors In-House with Tata Technologies

Air India, India’s main international airline, has obtained the Design Organisation Approval (DOA) from the Directorate Basic of Civil Aviation (DGCA) designated as CAR 21 approval. A big milestone, it will allow Air India to independently make design adjustments in-house and implement modifications to its plane interiors extra effectively.

The approval was handed over to Campbell Wilson, Chief Govt Officer and Managing Director, Air India by D.C. Sharma, Director Basic, DGCA on 25 October 2024 within the presence of different senior officers of Air India and DGCA, the civil aviation regulator.

Air India had earlier entered a collaboration with Tata Applied sciences, a worldwide engineering and product growth digital providers firm, to boost plane interiors in its fleet aligned with the CAR 21 approval for plane modifications. The DOA is a transformative step in direction of enhancing Air India’s in-house capabilities, which has been bolstered by choices to arrange its personal engineering, upkeep and coaching amenities.
